It may be winter, but don’t let the frost get in the way of being your most stylish self. Challenge the weather and maximize your chic with some fashion trends of the season:
- Whether it’s for a casual night out or a day in the office, a pair of colourful leggings can go a long way. Match it with a dress-suit (like the one in the photo below) for unique and trendy office wear, or wear it with a pair of tweed shorts and a white blouse for a lunch with friends. Make sure it’s got some thickness to it, though, since the wind will blow right through your regular tights.
- No one can survive through winter without tweed, so stock up with your pile of tweedy wear. Tweed coats never go out of fashion and can be worn with anything in just about any occasion for a classy-chic look, so invest in a sturdy one to last you through the season, or maybe two.
- With winter weather comes the chills, and there’s no better way to keep yourself warm indoors than a knit sweater. A nice wraparound knit suits the office, home, dinners, and classy cocktail parties.
- Jewelry usually gets hidden beneath layers upon layers of clothing, so earrings and bangles are the way to go. It’s always safe to go with golds, silvers, and diamonds for the more sophisticated events during the holidays. But for the less dressy functions, wood and earth tones are warm and down-to-earth, and have a wonderful ambiance to boot.
- The all encompassing article of clothing is of course, shoes. Boots are completely and utterly in this season, like every other winter past. Whether they’re slouch, belted, knits or wedged, boots make the outfit, so make sure you match the right boot to the right clothes, and strut your stuff with confidence (mind the ice!).
Keep up the beauty for the rest of Winter 2008 and enjoy the new year with even more style. Don’t let this cold weather bring you down to an x-large tee and sweats; fashion is something to keep in mind at all times. So take up the challenge and wear your best this holiday season! (Keep your hair static-free with some hydrating spray, too)
It’s never too cold to look cute!
