Smut Soiree with Lainey Gossip!

The Society Toronto once again put on an amazing event last week. Elaine Lui of Laney Gossip flew all the way to Toronto from Vancouver to dish dirt on celebrities with over 100 guests! Along with its celebrity theme was the hilarious group of “fans” that greeted guest when they arrived at the venue. Screams of “omigod, can I have your autograph”; “I love your last movie! What was it like working with George (or Brad or whatever major star) and “I heard that you and so-and-so were together. Is this true?” were heard. I was tempted to say something about me and some major male movie star, but decided play the snotty diva actress role instead. More fun, I think.

The event was held in a private home in the Annex area of Toronto, where guests were treated to makeovers, lip readings and amazing drinks, both alcoholic and non-alcoholic, including the amazingly tastey, Naked Juice. They even had people in fruit outfits promoting the drinks. There were also promos for Dior, The Bay and some mighty hot guys in Puma swim trunks too!

The guests mingled for an a hour and a half before the show started. Those of us who were lucky found seats, but for most of the guests, it was standing room only. Lainey dished for about an hour, answering questions from her fans, including who her best interview was, who her favourites are, and so forth.

Swag bag items!

Laney’s talk ended around 9:30 pm and people either continued to mingle or went home. Of course, what’s a celebrity event without swag bags? Every guest was given an amazing goody bag which included an issue of Fashion Magazine, products from The Bay, a novel, Dior products and many more items! I am definitely looking forward to next year’s Smut Soiree!!!
