Flourishing for a Good Cause
TU Dawood
Wine aficionados, young professionals, urbanites and socialites gathered at Yorkville Thursday night for Flourish, a fundraising wine-tasting reception with gourmet hors d’oeuvres, all set to a contemporary jazz background.
The welcoming ambiance of Manyata Courtyard in the lower atrium of Hazelton Lanes provided the perfect ambiance for guests to sample delectable treats, mingle and easily come and go throughout the evening.
A wide range of wine was featured including Chilean, Royal DeMaria Icewine, Mazel Wines and Artisan Wines. A special champagne from the Niagara vineyards of Wayne Gretzky attracted quite a crowd, as did a fun wine personality game many of the tasting stations held which added a whimsical charm to the evening. Much attention was also drawn to the Mombacho Cigar table which featured some top quality Nicaraguan cigars for sale.
Hosted by “The Wine Ladies” Georgia and Susanne and 1050 CHUM, the affair brought out many celebrities including Mike Bullard and Jean-Marc Genereux.
The proceeds from the event went to the Reena Foundation, a non-profit social service agency dedicated to integrating individuals who have a developmental disability into the mainstream of society. Funds raised from Flourish ticket sales as well as the silent auction went to support the lives of the more than 1,000 children, teens and young adults cared for by Reena each year.
If you were not able to make it to this event, please would like to contribute to this worthy cause, you can do so online.
