Double Extensions Lengthens Lashes, But Can Clump

L’Oreal’s latest mascara is the Double Extension Beauty Tube, a two-step product which promises to give the wearer long, luscious lashes (up to 80% longer).  The product which has wands on both ends, has a white conditioning base coat on one side and mascara on the other. According to the product description, the conditioner, made with Ceramide R, not only conditions the lashes, but also lengthens the lashes. The second side gives the lashes its colour.

Now on to a review of the product itself.  I wasn’t a big fan of the wand.  It was a little bigger and thicker than ones I’m used to – I’m personally a fan of very fine applicators as they really get between the lashes.  Another issue is the application process. The two step method is not the best for those in a hurry.  In addition, the fibres clump when it is being washed off.  I’ve worn this mascara a few times, and I thought my lashes were falling off the first time I washed the mascara off.  However, the mascara did lengthen my lashes quite a bit.  More than most lengthening mascaras I’ve used at the same price point.  But the mascara isn’t the miracle product it claims to be.
