Cynthia’s Thoughts: Prospere Magazine’s One Year Anniversary
This is the first Cynthia’s Thoughts post of 2009. I can’t believe one year has already gone by. Last year at this time, I was eagerly getting ready to launch this site. The URL itself was already live, but the first set of articles didn’t exist until January 8, 2008 at 8 am with promises of monthly articles on restaurants, fashion, real estate, career and so forth.
Yes, monthly. I had only intended to update every month when I first started. However, readers were asking for more, so a few months in, I started to post articles every other week, with EXTRA topics every so often. We were very excited to cover a wide variety of events, including interviews with Petite Fashionista Presents designers. By the fall, I had new material almost every week day, including this column, which debuted in the spring. New material, people say, keep readers coming to blogs. This has definitely worked, as numbers have risen significantly since then. Of course, exciting, interesting articles help increase readership as well.
I’m looking forward to the upcoming year. We have many exciting articles planned, and more activities to cover. We will definitely be doing more Fashion Week (definitely Toronto’s events) stuff as well as other event coverage, interviews with small business owners, restaurant reviews and so forth. We will also be improving the site and its navigation, making it easier for people to find older articles.
So I’m opening this up to you, the reader. What would you like to see in Prospere Magazine this year? Are there any topics we should focus on more? What about less? What has worked? What hasn’t worked? Should we have more giveaways and contests? Comments are most welcome.
