Meow with Envi for Dressed Up Cat

Dressed Up Cat is a line of handbags created by bag lover, Tracy Penwell.  Growing up with two older sisters, Tracy grew up with “recycled fashion” (read: hand-me-downs) and she also did not have issues with vintage.  In 2005, Tracy started to embellish her vintage bags, giving it a more unique look.  First, Tracy decorated bags for herself, but after finding that people were stopping her and wanting to know where she got it.  This was also when Tracy started to “think green.”  This  was when Dressed Up Cat was born.

As Dressed Up Cat is “wearable art,” each bag is unique - like snowflakes, no two bags are exactly the same.   Since Tracy is an environmentalist (or what she calls, an “envi,” a fashionista worried about the environment), she purchases all of the bags’ embellishments from antique malls, estate sales and vintage shops.  Each embellished bag is marked with the Dressed Up Cat label and comes with a leopard print (get it?  Cat!) dust cover as well as a signed and dated certificate, listing the bag’s title and particulars.
