Emily Hartzman arrived at the University of Western Ontario to major in journalism and business. However, after a while, she discovered that it wasn’t the line of work for her and went to hair school. After graduating, Emily went to study to become a make-up artist and it was there she met Lauren Simpson, who would later become her business partner.
Cosmetics from Lift Beauty Boutique
Emily and Lauren launched Lift Beauty Boutique, a members-only salon and beauty spot, three years ago in the heart of Yorkville. Tucked away on the third floor, this place is more like one’s best friend’s bedroom than a spa. The business was completely started by Emily and Lauren alone, without help from the family and only credit from the bank.
Lift Beauty Boutique offers a full range of services, ranging from hair to nails to make-up application, including a bridal package for the bride and her “crew.” Lift also offers individual make-up lessons and a “junior miss” service for girls under 15. The spa can also be used for parties, holding up to 25 people. Cosmetics used at Lift are their own brand. Through a great deal of research, the ladies were able to find a formula that is both price and skin conscious.
Lift Beauty Boutique will be participating in Beautylicious, which starts today. Packages start at $25. For more information on Beautylicious, please check out this link. Lift Beauty Boutique is located on the third floor at 114 Cumberland Street.
