The Arnold Party: Celebrating Business Contribution to the Arts
T.U. Dawood
The Arnold Party, which is the after party to the Business for the Arts Awards, was held on October 29 at the newly unveiled Walker Court at the Art Gallery of Ontario. This year’s recipient of the Arnold Edinborough Award for young professional who has contributed significantly as a volunteer in the arts was trailblazer Marcello Cabezas, founder and culture producer at macIdeas. As a young professional, Marcello’s resume includes advisory board and executive committee positions for numerous organizations including Artbound (“Free the Children” project), Canadian Opera Company, CFC World Wide Short Film Festival, Stratford YP, Luminato YP and Innovators Ball.
The Arnold Party featured music by Fritz Helder and the Phantoms, who have just signed to Nelly Furtado’s label, wild and wacky retro 80s dance performances, Rubik’s Cube pop art, an old style photo booth and an alchemic mix of movers and shakers in the art and business community.
