This weekend, Prospere Magazine received a comment for an older post which we decided could not be published. The comments, which referred to a restaurant review posting, were bordering on homophobic and racist as it described servers and clients in ways which Prospere Magazine does not wish to repeat. While we respect people’s beliefs and wishes, we do not believe that it is proper to make comments which can be seen as offensive. It only leads to flame wars, which can often get out of hand. This can lead to a whole host of issues, including IP banning.
Prospere Magazine does not believe in unpolished, unsophisticated commenting. As a reader, you may feel that it is unfair, but we don’t think it would reflect well on this publication, nor do we think it reflects well on the individual who wrote the reply. Unless, of course, said individual believes that being improper is a good thing – and we can’t imagine that one would. That said, one can make the same point without using insulting language. In other words, if the comment had been worded better, then perhaps it would have been accepted and posted. At the same time, we invite you to re-read our Terms and Conditions, which details what we allow and don’t allow on our site.
